 We are always on the look-out for signs that there is such a thing as a Scandinavian sound, and there definitely seems to be a uniquely sounding electro pop scene in Finland right now.  When The NMO go to a gig, we love it when the rooms are small and packed, when the stage is full of dry ice and blue light, and when the boys are Jimmy Dean-cool and the girls look like the boys. Then the band comes on and grabs every single atom of energy in the place, whisks it up into a vast wall of sound and hurls it back out into the throbbing crowd, building everything into a glorious frenzy.  Popidiot is a brilliant name. And The NMO had a brilliant time at a packed gig during the inaugural Tallinn Music Week we attended a few months ago. Popidiot is essentially a Finnish/Estonian synth team with their label boss joining in on guitar (a bit like if Alan McGee joined Erasure). They make the most raw, infectious pop imaginable that kicks off big time in front of a ready-to-party audience..... KELLERMENSCH 10/14/2009
 A couple of weeks ago, we got an excited email from our pal, Peter Krogholm up at the excellent All Scandinavian, urging us to give a listen to one of his new favourite bands,Kellermensch. He was convinced that this Danish 6-piece was ideal for The NMO to feature and he wasn’t wrong because here they are as our latest Artist Of The Week.  This week’s Featured Artist is TV OFF. The NMO came across this ultra-colourful electro-pop duo when the singer - who was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar (J) - served us a sideorder of demos along with our large mojitos at Helsinki’s Mbar one sunny afternoon.
