PHOENIX EFFECT

Other than telling our dear subscribers about great new music, there is nothing the NMO likes to do more than a bit of name-dropping here and there. So, imagine the delight at NMO HQ today that we are able to bring you a brilliant new Finnish band, Phoenix Effectand tell you that singer of the band is none other than Janne Kärkkäinen, previously of fellow-Finnish hitsters Sunrise Avenue. Since leaving The Ave, Janne has literally got his act together in a big way and seems to have created Phoenix Effect to be the very definition of Melodic Power-Rock. Since launching earlier this year on the Poets Of The Fall’s Insomniac label (oops, names being dropped all over the place today), several tracks have burned up the Finnish airplay chart and legions of loyal fans have already formed around the globe, like a secret army preparing for the Phoenix Effect invasion. With our featured track, ‘King See No Evil’, from the album ‘Cyanide Skies’, sounding like a big, fat radio song, as well as having an explosive live show ready to go, we are thinking that if this band does not make a serious impact - in the German market at least - the NMO will eat its hat. In fact, it will eat everyone’s hats. And jackets. So, bring it on. We told you here first!
