The Majority Says (Sweden)

Music history is full of examples of bands successfully coining a specific term that everyone will subsequently use when referring to the band. Remember when Klaxons – as a joke – called themselves a “new rave” band? The press loved it, not realising it was a joke, and it proved a great PR stunt. These things are often interesting, so the NMO was naturally intrigued when Swedish band The Majority Says described themselves as a “boyband with a female front figure".
The sextet hails from famed ice hockey town Linköping and has been active since 2005, but the band really found its own identity with the new lineup in 2010. Suddenly armed with a female singer, the band could try out some new things and suddenly grew into a band with major hit potential. One such song is “114” which has not only received lots of airplay but also served as the soundtrack for a large TV campaign by Viasat in large parts of Europe. They’ve started noticing the potential on the other side of the Atlantic as well, with TV shows such as Pretty Little Liars and The L Word using the band’s songs........
